Voge's model naming looks impenetrable until you realise it follows a consistent logic. Once you know the pattern, you can read any model name in the range and know roughly what you are looking at before you see a photograph.
This is the reference thread for that pattern. If you are trying to work out what someone means by "DS625X" or "300ACX", the answer is below.
The letters tell you the family
The letters in a Voge model name identify the type of motorcycle:

The number is the capacity class, not the capacity
This is the part that trips up everyone comparing spec sheets. The numbers are rounded up, sometimes considerably:

This is marketing convention rather than deception — plenty of manufacturers round capacity classes — but it matters when you are comparing against a rival's honest figure, or checking a licence category, or ordering parts.
The suffix letters
X generally indicates the adventure or off-road oriented version within a family. S tends to mark a sportier or updated variant — the R125S sits above the R125, and the RR500S is the faired sport machine in the 500 class.
Putting it together
- DS625X — dual sport, 625 class (actually 581cc), adventure variant
- RR660S — sport, 660 class, sport variant
- 300 ACX — 300 class classic, scrambler version
- SR450X — scooter, 450 class, adventure oriented
One thing this does not cover
The model name is only half the story, because the same motorcycle is sold under different names in different countries. The DS bikes wear the Valico badge in Italy and several other European markets, so "Valico 525 DSX" and "DS525X" refer to the same machine.
