The most interesting scooter Voge has made
The SR450X does something almost nobody else in the class does: it puts a parallel twin in an adventure-styled scooter.
The engine is a 398cc twin — four-stroke, eight valves, liquid-cooled with electronic injection, producing around 41.8 hp and 42 Nm. It is accessible on an A2 licence without restriction, which is unusual at this output.
The equipment list is genuinely long for the segment: Kayaba upside-down forks, a 17-inch spoked front wheel, tubeless spoked wheels, metal protection bars, heated grips and an electric screen as standard, keyless ignition, traction control, connected instrumentation and folding footpegs for standing. Underseat storage is claimed to take two helmets.
Numbers: 220 kg kerb, 18-litre tank, 1,518 mm wheelbase, 795 mm seat.
Pricing at launch was €6,288 in Spain — with a five-year warranty and first-year insurance included as a launch promotion — reaching dealers from September. UK listing is £5,999.
The open questions
- 220 kg is not light. How does it feel manoeuvring at walking pace and reversing out of a parking space?
- Does the two-helmet storage claim hold with two full-face helmets, or one full-face and a jacket?
- The electric screen — genuinely useful or a feature that sounds better than it works?
- Twin-cylinder character in a scooter. Does it change the experience, or is it a spec-sheet difference?
- Motorway ability fully loaded and two-up
