Seat height and reach: which Voge adventure bike suits shorter riders?

The question that decides more purchases than power figures

Adventure bikes are tall. For a lot of riders this is the thing that determines what they can actually buy, and manufacturer seat height figures only tell part of the story — seat width at the front, suspension sag under your weight and boot sole thickness all change the reality.

Please post

Code:
Your height and inside leg:
Model and year:
Both feet flat, tiptoes, or one foot down?
Boots you were wearing:

Anything you changed: (low seat, lowering kit, preload, boots)
Confident manoeuvring at walking pace?
Any situation where it caught you out?

Solutions people have used

  • Lower seat options where available
  • Preload adjustment to change ride height and sag
  • Lowering links — note that these change geometry and ground clearance
  • Thicker-soled boots, which sounds trivial and is not
  • Learning technique for stops, which costs nothing

One caution. Lowering a bike affects handling, ground clearance and suspension travel. If you are considering a lowering kit, say so in your post and let people who have done it tell you what it changed.

Riders under 170 cm: your posts are the most useful ones here. Most reviews are written by people for whom this was never a consideration.
