The reality of a sport bike as daily transport
Sport bikes are designed around a riding position that makes sense at speed and considerably less sense in traffic. Weight goes through your wrists, your neck works constantly, and what feels fine for an hour can be punishing after three.
Some of this is unavoidable. Some of it is fixable, and a lot of it is technique rather than parts.
What owners report helps
- Grip the tank with your legs. The most common cause of wrist pain is supporting your upper body with your arms. Free advice, works immediately, takes practice.
- Core strength. Unglamorous and genuinely effective.
- Bar risers or adjustable clip-ons, where the model allows. Changes the geometry of the whole position.
- Seat modification or an aftermarket seat for longer distances.
- Screen and airflow. At motorway speed, wind pressure on your chest actually reduces weight on your wrists — a taller screen sometimes makes comfort worse.

Riders over 185 cm and under 165 cm: your posts are the most useful ones here. Standard ergonomics are designed around neither of you, and there is very little written for either.
