Can you tour on a maxi scooter?

The question that divides people

Riders who have never toured on a scooter tend to assume it cannot be done. Riders who have often say they would not go back — no gears in traffic, weather protection built in, storage as standard, and a riding position that does not fatigue.

The SR450X, with its 18-litre tank, electric screen and heated grips as standard, is clearly aimed at exactly this. So let's hear from people who have actually done it.

Post your trip

Code:
Model and year:
Route and total distance:
Days:
Solo or two-up:
Luggage carried and how:

What worked better than expected:
What you struggled with:
Fuel consumption and realistic range:
Comfort after a full day:
Would you do it again on the same machine?

Worth addressing

  • Motorway stability loaded, and in crosswinds
  • Range planning — how far between fuel stops in practice
  • Where the luggage went, and whether the underseat space was enough
  • Mountain roads and sustained climbs
  • Pillion comfort over days, in their own words
  • Anything that needed attention on the road

And the honest counter-argument

If you tried touring on a scooter and did not enjoy it, post that too. A thread where everyone agrees is not a discussion, and someone planning their first trip deserves both sides.
